October Wrap-Up and November TBR

10:00 AM

Hi guys! I can't believe it's already the beginning of November. 1 month left and we're finished with 2016! Time flies so fast!

Before we start...
Happy Halloween!

Yes I'm aware it's November already, but whatever!

October has passed with a blur. With so many tests and other activities, I barely had time to read anything. Anyways, October has been an amazing reading month for me. I've read 9 books (which is a lot considering how busy I am this month) and I really enjoyed all of them. So here are the books I've read on October:

  1. Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ✰✰✰✰
  2. Biggest Flirts by Jennifer Echols ✰✰✰.5
  3. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman ✰✰✰✰.5
  4. Chasers of the Light by Taylor Knott Gregson
  5. Who Was King Tut? by Roberta Edwards ✰✰✰
  6. A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab ✰✰✰✰.5
  7. The Twin's Daughter by Lauren Baratz-Longsted ✰✰✰✰
  8. The Demon in the Wood by Leigh Bardugo ✰✰
  9. Catatan Seorang Demonstran by Soe Hok Gie ✰✰.5
If you've seen my October TBR post, you'll see that the books I read this month are actually really different with what I've planned :D Well since it's October and it's almost Halloween, I decided to change my TBR pile, to get into the Halloween/fall atmosphere, even though we don't celebrate Halloween and we don't have fall season in my country.

My favorite books would be The Graveyard Book and A Darker Shade of Magic. The Graveyard Book has ghosts and other creatures, but it also gives you warm and fuzzy feels. A Darker Shade of Magic is a fantasy novel about magic, alternate universe, thieves, blood, and many other awesome-ness.

For the month of November, I plan to read the final book in some series, so I could find out the ending and start new series. I just have too many unfinished series!

    1. Persuasion by Jane Austen // I'm not feeling really motivated to read another Austen book, but when I went to my bookstore and saw that cover, I knew I had to buy it! I'm actually a couple pages in, and so far I liked it!
    2. P.S I Still Love You by Jenny Han // What will happens with Lara and Peter???
    3. Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi // I hope Juliette isn't a lovesick girl anymore, and Tahereh's writing isn't too flowery in this book...
    4. Confess by Colleen Hoover // My first Colleen Hoover and New Adult book. I know nothing in this book, so I hope this book could surprise me!
    5. Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan // The book my friend keeps recommending to me...
November-December is going to be a busy month for me. With the final exams coming, the school is pushing us harder than ever. I might not be able to read all my TBR books... Which means I might not be able to post regularly. I'll post something here and there, but I can't promise...

What was your favorite book last month? What book you're really excited to read this month? Let me know in the comment and have a great reading month!

    1. This is such a beautiful post, and I absolutely love how personal you are and how pretty your book photography is. HAHA <3 Anyway, I read The Graveyard Book last year and I averagely enjoyed it :) It wasn't my all-time favorite, but the story is very original and creative. The book cover of Persuasion is so gorgeous as well!!! I haven't seen an edition that looks exactly like that *grabby hands*

Great post and I enjoyed reading through it! I hope you get to read more and more lovely books. And I can't believe you managed to read 9 books last month. I only got to 3 ^_^"

      1. Thank you! Well I read in between classes, but it was an unpleasant experience, since I can't concentrate in class because I was too absorbed in the book :D It's beautiful indeed, it's the newest Indonesian edition of Persuasion :)

    2. Ignite Me is my favorite book from the entire series, and I think there's a HUGE growth in Juliette's character! I hope you enjoy it :D

    4. AHH I LOVED THE GRAVEYARD BOOK! I read it last year and it was so awesome, Neil Gaiman is the best, seriously. I love how his books explain magic in a way that no other books do. Most books just throw the word 'magic' around and expect readers to simply believe that it is what it is. But Neil Gaiman digs deeper, explains magic as something far more complex. (especially in The Ocean at the End of the Lane! I totally recommend that book if you haven't read it already) Plus I think I was a little smitten by Silas (shhh.. don't judge me)
I couldn't read a whole lot last month because of exams (sigh.. I know how you feel my friend) but as for this month, I'm so psyched to read Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman. Have you heard of that read? AHH it sounds so good I can't wait! Btw.. you gained a new follower *winks* Thanks so much for the wonderful posts xx

      1. Thank you! I also kind of smitten with Silas! He's dark and mysterious, we don't even know much about him at the end of story, but he's actually soft-hearted ;)
