Summary:

Lucy Sexton is stunned when a disheveled woman appears at the door one day…a woman who bears an uncanny resemblance to Lucy's own beautiful mother. It turns out the two women are identical twins, separated at birth, and raised in dramatically different circumstances. Lucy's mother quickly resolves to give her less fortunate sister the kind of life she has never known. And the transformation in Aunt Helen is indeed remarkable. But when Helen begins to imitate her sister in every way, even Lucy isn't sure at times which twin is which. Can Helen really be trusted, or does her sweet face mask a chilling agenda?

Filled with shocking twists and turns, THE TWIN'S DAUGHTER is an engrossing gothic novel of betrayal, jealousy, and treacherous secrets that will keep you guessing to the very end.

Thoughts:

First of all, this book has an amazing cover! I absolutely loved it, and the story is also really good. It has gothic and steampunk feels to it, but also creates good mystery.

When Aunt Helen shows up at her doorstep, Lucy feels excited. But then Aunt Helen became too much like Aliese (Lucy's Mother), that Lucy find it hard to tell who's who. Shouldn’t a daughter be able to recognize her own mother?

This book surprises me. I didn't expected to like it this much. I was so interested with the stories because all the characters are so complex and have lots of layers. I do feel suspicious with Aunt Helen, because she seems like she want to replace Aliese. And she also plays with her suitors, which looks suspicious for me.

There's no insta-love in this book. I do think it's adorable seeing the friendship evolves into a romance. And there are so many deaths at the second half of the book!*sniffs*

But there are so may twists in this book! This book surprises me a lot! I never guess anything in this book correctly :D I don't know what's the point of the romance in this book, but it definitely adds the feels in this book. If you love mystery, you should try this book out!
