Summary:
When Katarina Bishop was three, her parents took her on a trip to the Louvre…to case it. For her seventh birthday, Katarina and her Uncle Eddie traveled to Austria…to steal the crown jewels. When Kat turned fifteen, she planned a con of her own—scamming her way into the best boarding school in the country, determined to leave the family business behind. Unfortunately, leaving “the life” for a normal life proves harder than she’d expected.
Soon, Kat's friend and former co-conspirator, Hale, appears out of nowhere to bring Kat back into the world she tried so hard to escape. But he has a good reason: a powerful mobster has been robbed of his priceless art collection and wants to retrieve it. Only a master thief could have pulled this job, and Kat's father isn't just on the suspect list, he is the list. Caught between Interpol and a far more deadly enemy, Kat’s dad needs her help.
For Kat, there is only one solution: track down the paintings and steal them back. So what if it's a spectacularly impossible job? She's got two weeks, a teenage crew, and hopefully just enough talent to pull off the biggest heist in her family's history--and, with any luck, steal her life back along the way.

Review:
Yes finally I can open my laptop. To be honest, this February I was really busy, I can't even read any books.
Okay enough talking. Today I want to talk about Heist Society. Heist Society is about a family, even generations of thieves. The story begins when our main character, Katerina Bishop, was expelled from school. Kat's got the talent to be a thief, but she doesn't want to join the family business and even go to school for a normal life. Turns out she was expelled because her friends framed her. Her father is accused of stealing paintings when he didn't, and if they aren't returned, her father will be killed. To return the stolen paintings, Kat starts to gather around her fellow thieves friends and family.
When I read the synopsis, I was thinking "well, this book sounds very interesting". The idea of the story is very unique, about generations of a family of thieves. Moreover, the rating on Goodreads is fairly high.
Anyways, it ends up disappointing. This book is not living up with my expectations. I think the story line is too flat and doesn't have any climax. The villain described as a cruel person, but his actions are not cruel enough. The main character herself, Kat, her personality is boring. She's got the talent but she's constantly worried. And even if she is not worried, there's nothing special other than she was a thief. Character's background, the thief, and the paintings didn't give enough explanation which left a lot of holes and end up confusing.
The book is not bad, but too predictable and not exciting. The concept is interesting, but the execution is too simple. And the characters are too flat. The book itself eventually ends up just "good", but not "memorable". I think it could've been better.
