Announcement: Exams and Moving to Wordpress

12:00 PM

Uni has been fun, but the study... well it's hard. I would have mid term exam starting on Thursday, so wish me luck! I also mentioned on my September recap that I've been considering to moving to Wordpress. I've already doing some test and I find that I like it better than blogger!

So I figure I would take some time off from the blogosphere, for exam and also learning everything I needed to know about moving my blog. There are several things that I would like to ask to you guys though, so your answers would be really appreciated!
  1. Does importing my content include all comments and stats?
  2. Can I import my bloglovin followers? Do I have to make a new blog or I can just change the url?
  3. Will it deletes all my drafted and scheduled post?
The move won't be anytime soon, there are a lot of things that I still want to know, learn and search to make sure every thing works perfectly. I plan it to happen around December or January, so I have plenty of time to do research. That's why your answers would be really appreciated! Thank you for reading this short post, your answers would help me a lot, and wish me luck!

  1. Ahhh so you finally made the decision! :) I'm sorry I can't be much help because I never moved my blog. I used blogger before and made a new one on wordpress :') but I do hope you will get all the informations you need and the move would be smooth! Good luck for your exams <3

  2. Oh yeah! I have Wordpress and I absolutely love it. <3 You can do virtually anything with Wordpress and it's got so many more features, plugins, and design options than Blogger. As for your questions:

1). Your comments stay, but your stats start anew.
2). You can definitely keep all your Bloglovin followers! I'm not sure of the specifics, but I think you can contact Bloglovin and they'll transfer all your followers to your new blog.
3). This one I'm not sure about because I didn't have any posts drafted / scheduled when I transferred my blog a while ago. I'll look around and try to find the answer for you though! <3

    Hope this helps!

  3. Good luck with your exams! I love WP (I’m theme designer/developer so I’m partial to this CMS) so this upcoming change is awesome! As for questions (1) your data will remain, comments, posts etc. Stats if you’re using a third party stats analyzer I think it’s possible. You’ll just to update your info…me thinks. (2) I changed my URL last year, so I contacted Bloglovin to update my link (since you’re not allowed to do it on your own) it was pretty quick for me, it only lasted like less than 15 minutes. (3) I haven’t had any experience with blogger so I’m not sure but if it’s just draft my guess it might not come with the move (tho not totally sure about that one). Again, good luck with everything!

  5. Yes, you can change all your blogloving followers to your new blog. Just email bloglovin and they should do it for you! If you do the move right, all your drafts and scheduled posts should move too. I had someone do the move for me because I am dumb at that kind of stuff. Good luck!

  6. I totally understand what you mean about midterms getting in the way. They're so time-consuming!
I personally don't know much about Wordpress, so I'm not really a big help :( But please do share the link of your new blog when you're done making the changes so we all can continue to follow you!
Good luck on your midterms! :)

  7. First, good luck with your exams!! Second, I moved to WP from Blogger about 2 years ago, and it was seriously THE best decision. For me, everything transferred just fine! All my comments, followers, etc. And with Bloglovin, I just had to email them telling them I changed the url, and they moved it for me. I didn't have any scheduled posts or drafts (hahah because I am a mess) so I can't speak for that, but if you just copy the html and save it somewhere else, it would be easy enough to just paste them into a new post, worst case scenario. I save SO much time now with WP, because layouts and book info and everything is SO much easier. I hope that it goes well for you if/when you switch!!

  8. The best of luck with your exams! I also switched to WordPress a few months ago and I absolutely love it! WordPress is much easier to format for me and I just love the general layout more. It was a pretty easy transition too. Like the previous comments said, all your comments will stay. And I was actually just able to change my blog url manually in Bloglovin' and didn't have to email them so maybe they changed the settings recently.
